Do I need a piano at home to take piano lessons?

It is ideal if you do have a piano at home, but you can start lessons by using an electric keyboard to practice on. We recommend a keyboard that has regular sized keys and a touch sensitive response (touch sensitive keyboard means that keys have same feeling as an actual acoustic piano)

How old does student need to be in order to take lessons?

You are never too young and never too old to learn the beauty of music making. Everybody can learn how to make music. We offer preschool music program, starting age 2. We have had students of various ages and backgrouns, from toddlers to retirees. They all enjoyed it very much, and they all learned how to bring the magic of music making in their life.

How long does it take to learn an instrument?

There is no set amount of time that it takes to learn an instrument, the main reason being that most students learn at a different pace. We believe that everybody can and will learn, each within their own timeframe. Practice, of course, is very important, not because it makes it perfect, but because it makes it permanent. However, we will have students playing from day one.

How can I learn to be an music composer if I've never composed before?

Music composition is the most advanced form of music art. Many great music masters (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, and others) learned the skill of music composition. Everybody can learn how to compose music. It is the most creative process of music making. And it is very much like learning how to cook – we need some tools and techniques and smile in our heart, and after some of practice we can make our own recipes!

I don't have any musical background or ability; can I still help my child practice?

Yes. Even if you don't have any musical experience you can still rely on the instructor for advice on how to help the child practice. Parents who get involved in their child's lessons often find it rewarding - and it's also helpful to the student. Many parents will occasionally sit in on the child's lesson to get an idea of what needs to be done, and to be supportive to their child.
